COST Grants
If you (i.e. your PI or Supervisor or other senior scientist) are a member of COST actions CM1306 (Molecular Machines), CM1207 (GLISTEN) or BM1403 (Native Mass Spectrometry and Related Methods for Structural Biology) then you can contact the corresponding COST Action Chairs in order to realize COST support for participation at the School.
The same set of documents as for EBSA Grants (see below) will be necessary for the application. As per COST rules, the applicant will have to pay the accommodation (850€ on A category ship), which will be reimbursed by COST in a few weeks after the School.
EBSA Grants
The Organizers are also able to offer assistance from EBSA, European Biophysical Societies’ Association. The EBSA Grant amounts to 550€. In other words, the applicants are expected to contribute 200€ for their accommodation (750€ is accommodation on the Training ship). Early bird registration is free: 0 €. The EBSA fund may support up to about 20% of the School participants.
Grant application should contain all the documets within a single pdf file:
- The abstract (about 400 words with one optional figure prepared using the provided template)
- A short CV (1 page)
- A list of publications, if any
- A short letter of motivation to attend the School
- A recommendation letter from their supervisor (or head of the department /institute). This letter should explain why the grant is needed.
The applicants are expected to prepare both a short (8-10 mins) oral and a poster presentation at the School.
The selection will be based on the quality of the work and its and relevance to the topics of the School as well as on the qualifications of the candidate.
Candidates from Eastern or Southern European countries will be given priority for EBSA Grants. A single laboratory can obtain only one grant.
EBSA Applicants are requested to send their application by email by: May 1, 2016. The application should be sent to and should include a subject line “EBSA Grant application”. All documents should be combined into one pdf file.
The applicants will be informed of the decision no later than May 15, 2016.
