COST Support

If you (i.e. your PI or Supervisor or other senior scientist) are a member of COST actions CM1306 (Molecular Machines, http://molecularmachinery.eu/), CA15126 (MOBIEU, https://arbre-mobieu.eu/) or BM1403 (Mass Spectrometr, http://structuralproteomics.eu/) then you can contact the corresponding COST Action Chairs in order to realize COST support for participation at the School. The applicant should also email the application to organizers of the School, .

The same set of documents as for EBSA Grants (see below) will be necessary for the application. As per COST rules, the applicant will have to pay the all inclusive fee in advance (590€), which will be reimbursed by COST after the School. Depending on the number of applicants, in some cases the COST support will not cover the full registration fee as the funds are limited.

EBSA Grants

The Organizers are also able to offer assistance from EBSA, European Biophysical Societies’ Association. The EBSA Grant amounts to 590€ that covers the early-bird, all inclusive fee. The EBSA fund may support up to about 20% of the School participants.

Candidates from less research-intensive countries will be given priority for EBSA Grants. Please check the list of Inclusiveness Target Countries (http://www.cost.eu/about_cost/strategy/excellence-inclusiveness). Only in exceptional cases other candidates will be considered. The candidates affiliated to an institution in Croatia are not elligible. A recipient of the EBSA grant is expected to be a member of the local Biophysical Society or any in European Biophysical Societies’ Association.

A single laboratory can obtain only one grant.

Grant application should contain all the documets within a single pdf file:

  1. The abstract (about 400 words with one optional figure prepared using the provided template)
  2. A short CV (1 page)
  3. A list of publications, if any
  4. A short letter of motivation to attend the School
  5. A recommendation letter from their supervisor (or head of the department /institute). This letter should explain why the grant is needed.

The grant recipients are expected to prepare both a short (8 mins) oral and a poster presentation at the School.
The selection will be based on the quality of the work and its relevance to the topics of the School, as well as on the qualifications of the candidate.

The EBSA applicants are requested to send their application by email before: May 15, 2018. The application should be sent to and should include a subject line “EBSA Grant application”. All documents should be combined into one pdf file.

The EBSA applicants will be informed of the decision no later than June 08, 2018.
